This week-end: Don't miss out.

As part of our 25 year celebrations, Ranger Matt Hall has organised a vintage tractor weekend on the arable fields at Paxton Pits. Here are the details:

The arable land at Paxton Pits was acquired by the Council over 10 years ago to be an extension to the Reserve. The objective is to manage the area (now under the High Level Stewardship Scheme) for the benefit of wildlife, especially with target species such as yellowhammers and harvest mice. We have had some success in this regard, but it would be nice to see other species benefit too, particularly turtle doves, tree sparrows and corn buntings.

The old tractors will be preparing the ground and maybe even sowing the seed mixes designed to meet our objectives.

Don't forget to bring your camera and send me your best photos afterwards at jim2stevenson@gmail.com
